A Whale of a Shaker card

I love making shaker cards. The paper in the Whale of a Time packet makes a wonderful card front. When you add a whale and sequins you have a fun shaker card.

I have tried to be clear in describing how I put this shaker card together. If you want to see a video of me putting this card together, I did a Facebook Live on my Scrappin with Joni Facebook page showing how I put this card together on Thursday, July 9th.

Card Base: Cut Pacific Point 8 ½ X 11 paper in half widthwise. You now have two pieces 8 ½ X 5 ½ . Fold one of the pieces in half lengthwise for your card front. The card front now measures 4 ¼ X 5 ½.

Card Mat: Cut Bumblebee paper 4 X 5 1/4

Card Front: Cut fish paper 3 ¾ X 5, cut so as many fish as possible are on card front. See picture for reference.

Use 2 ¼” circle punch to punch a circle opening in the card front in the blue water in the upper left area of the card front. Save the punched piece.

Cut two pieces of window sheet 3 X 3. Attach one piece of window sheet to back of the circle opening in the card front.

Punch whale from paper using Whale punch. Attach punched whale to blue water circle punched from card front. Attach this circle to the center of the other piece of 3 X 3 window sheet. Use Wink of Stella to add glimmer to whale.

Wrap adhesive foam strips around the blue circle on the window sheet, leaving a little space between edge of the blue circle as you wrap it in a circle. See picture.

Place some Whale of a Time sequins in the well made by the foam adhesive sheets. I also include some silica (the stuff that comes in new shoes and purse) it keeps sequins from sticking to each other.

Remove the strip at top of the foam strip around the whale. Place the card front over the whale circle, so that it lines up with the punched opening in card front. Attach some additional strips of foam adhesive strips to the back of the card front. Attach card front to Bumblebee card mat.

Attach card front with attached mat to Pacific Point card base.

That’s it; you have finished your card front. Wasn’t that easy? For the inside of your card, cut a piece of Whisper White 4 X 5 ¼. Stamp a sentiment or write a note before attaching this piece inside your card.
