Back to School Journal, pen, & magnetic bookmark
These three projects are great for the teacher or student in your life. They are so easy to make but with great impact.
In addition to the supplies I have listed, you will need a composition notebook, magnetic sheet, and a pen the kind that.has a clear barrel.
JOURNAL
Front & Back cover:
Cut two pieces of paper 7 X 10. This is for a standard size composition book. If you have a different size composition notebook - Measure your cover from edge of black binding to outside edge of cover and add 1/4 inch. Measure your cover top to bottom and add 1/4 inch.
Spine cover: Cut contrasting paper 2 X10. Again this is for standard size composition notebook.
Adhere paper to Composition Book:
Apply liquid glue to edges of notebook cover, apply next to black spine. Attach paper, line up paper next to black spine. Paper will stick out top, bottom, and front edge. Let glue dry a minute and then trim paper so it is even with edges of notebook.
Repeat this for back of notebook.
Apply tear & tape along black spine, along the print paper you applied to cover of notebook.
Cut 14" of ribbon.
Adhere ribbon to top of spine so that most of ribbon extends out beyond top of spine. I used tear & tape to adhere ribbon in place.
Attach spine paper cover to front of Composition Book along edge of print paper.
Place tear & tape to back side of spine paper. Wrap this paper around around spine, adhere to back of notebook.
Carefully trim spine paper at bottom of notebook, so paper is even with bottom of notebook
Pen
Cut paper ¾ X 3 ½”. Unscrew the end of the pen, wrap paper tightly around pen (the part that holds the ink). Insert back into the clear barrel
MAGNETIC BOOKMARK
Cut your print paper 1 1/2 X 6"
Fold paper in half so it now measures 1 1/2 X 3
Insert open ends of print paper piece into Banner Triple Punch. This will put a banner end on both sides of your paper strip.
If you don't have a banner punch, you could leave them straight or corner round the corners.
Add magnetic pieces inside your paper strip at each end. Magnetic adhesive sheets work great for this. I cut two 1' squares to apply to the bookmark
MAGNETIC BOOKMARK
Cut your print paper 1 1/2 X 6"
Fold paper in half so it now measures 1 1/2 X 3
Insert open ends of print paper piece into Banner Triple Punch. This will put a banner end on both sides of your paper strip.
