Bow Tie Guy card
Do you have bow tie guy in your life? This is the card for them. I love that it is a great use of paper scraps. I couldn’t quit making them. At the end of my instructions, I have pictures of other versions of this card.
Check out my Scrappin with Joni YouTube channel to see me make this card.
Card Base: Cut Basic White 8 ½ X 11 paper in half widthwise. You now have two pieces 8 ½ X 5 ½ . Fold one of the pieces in half lengthwise for your card front. The card front now measures 4 ¼ X 5 ½. Your card base is your card front.
From Suit & Ties dies, cut
Two suspenders of solid color or print (I have included colors I used in supply list and next to picture of each card). I used Pacific Point for suspenders on this card.
One button tab (same die as suspender) from white paper. (I cut two of these the first time I made the card so I could use one as a template for future cards.)
One collar piece from white paper
One bow tie
Two suspender tabs from foil paper(I put adhesive back on paper before cutting)
One of the narrow strip that is meant for the suit coat pocket from foil paper. (I put adhesive back on paper before cutting)
One set of buttons from white paper (I put adhesive back on paper before cutting)
Place the collar piece at the top of the card front centered. Lightly trace the v shape, remove the collar piece and clip out this opening.
Attach the button tab on the center front of the card, the top will line up with the point of the clipped V. There will be some of the tab that goes below the card front. I made a template to help me easily line up the buttons so I didn’t need to measure. Attach the buttons to the button tab. I added two tiny black dots to each button. Attach the collar piece lining it up over the V opening.
I cut the narrow foil strip in half attaching one to each suspender, see picture for placement. Attach suspenders to the card front. I used my button template as a guide, placing the suspenders the width of the template from each side of the card front. Attach a suspender tab at the bottom of each suspender.
Attach bow tie over collar with a dimensional.
